Last weekend, I went to dinner in Altadena at Betsy for the first time since the fires, and it was one of the most uplifting experiences I’ve had in a long time. The entire evening felt like a celebration of community—friends, neighbors, and families coming together to enjoy an incredible local restaurant. In that moment, you could truly feel the spirit of Altadena shining through.
Altadena is already rising like a phoenix from the ashes, coming together as the artistic, caring, and resilient community it has always been. I’m excited for Altadena’s future and grateful to continue being part of it.
From a real estate perspective, the Eaton Canyon Fires of January 2025 have shifted the landscape. Today, there are both lots for sale and homes that have remained. The current median home price in Altadena is $930,000, while lots under 10,000 sq. ft. range from $500,000 to $800,000, depending on location, topography, and views.

Originally hailing from the suburbs of Chicago, Joy fell in love with Los Angeles while vacationing here as a child. After 22 years of calling the Eastside her home, she has no plans to leave. She currently resides in Glassell Park with her husband Matt, their son Levi, and their 10 year old rescued pup, Cubby. When she’s not working with clients, you might find her exploring local boutiques, sampling the fare at one of the city’s newest restaurants with her girlfriends, or attending baby gymnastics classes with Levi.
