Eagle Rock, One Of LA’s Most Beloved Neighborhoods

Eagle Rock is one of Northeast Los Angeles’s most beloved neighborhoods — known for its great schools, walkable streets, charming Spanish homes, and classic California bungalows. With its small-town feel and tight-knit family friendly community, it’s easy to see why so many people love calling Eagle Rock home. Located just minutes from Pasadena, Highland Park, and Silver Lake, Eagle Rock offers the best of Eastside living with a laid-back vibe.

The median home price in Eagle Rock is around $1,304,000, and there are a few distinct pockets to know:

  • North of Colorado Boulevard: Home to larger and more expensive properties, this area falls within the Dahlia Heights Elementary School district — one of the most desirable schools in the area. It’s also a killer trick-or-treat neighborhood .
  • West Eagle Rock: Characterized by hillside homes, many built in the 1960s, offering larger square footage, generous closet space, and a more open layout. This area is in the Delevan Drive Elementary School district, which also has excellent ratings.

When it comes to local favorites, Colombo’s Italian Steakhouse is a true Eagle Rock institution — think big red booths, old-school martinis (with a sidecar!), and the perfect wedge salad. While the live jazz has taken a pause since the pandemic, the vintage Italian Steakhouse vibe remains. Across the street, The Eagle Rock Italian Bakery is another neighborhood gem — I get Christmas cookies there every year. We all adore fancy pizza, but nothing beats the thin-crust pepperoni from Casa Bianca, cooked well-done — it’s an Eagle Rock classic. For a girls night out head to Queen’s English Raw Bar on York Boulevard and slurp down oysters with an ice-cold martini or a glass of natural wine selected by their sommelier.
