Glendale is always a good choice—maybe even the safe one

Glendale is always a good choice—maybe even the safe one. If Los Angeles neighborhoods were dating profiles, Glendale’s the one you take home to mom and dad. Dependable, family-oriented, and always looking out for you. Sure, there are flashier, more “Instagram-famous” spots out there—but when you’re done swiping on Zillow and ready to settle down, it’s time to call Glendale home. Median home price is $1,255,000.

Local Favorites

Damon’s Steak House
A true Glendale classic since 1937. With tiki décor, bamboo ceilings, and a giant wooden canoe overhead, it’s delightfully kitschy. Their mai tais are strong, the coconut shrimp is a must, and the massive fish tank keeps the kids entertained (for about ten minutes).

Din Tai Fung
The best thing to happen to the Galleria. Soup dumplings, sake, and people-watching—what more could you want? The sleek space and perfectly executed dishes make it a go-to for dinner before (or instead of) shopping.

Fish King Seafood
Locals know: if McCall’s tells you to go to Fish King, you go. This market has the freshest seafood in town plus a killer to-go menu—poke bowls, miso soup, and more for under $10.

About Glendale

Glendale is its own city, with independent government, police, and fire departments—meaning safety and services are top-notch. Families love the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) for its strong academics, supportive teachers, and standout programs in arts, STEM, and language immersion.

Reliable, welcoming, and a little underrated—Glendale is the one that’s built to last.
